Innovative process for the recycling of fiberglass waste

A thermochemical process for decomposing fiberglass to obtain, by vaporization and successive condensation, a liquid solution that can be reused mixed (10-20% b.w.) with the usual pre-polymer for obtaining new fiber-glass objects has been developed in collaboration with the Korec society. The decomposition reaction occurs in atmosphere of CO2 with a high yields (>85%). A residue of fiber glass covered by pitches is obtained. After combustion of the pitches also clean fiber glass is obtained and recycled. More details on the process can be found on the Korec website: http://www.ko-rec.com/
